It is with immense pride and excitement that we announce a landmark achievement for Nepal and Engineers Without Borders Nepal (EWB Nepal). Our President, Kapil Dev Regmi, has been elected as the President-Elect of Engineers Without Borders International (EWBI). This momentous accomplishment underscores the incredible contributions of Nepal to the global engineering and development space.

Kapil Dev Regmi founded Engineers Without Borders Nepal during the challenges of the 2021 lockdown. What began as a bold initiative quickly transformed into one of the most dynamic and fastest-growing social sector organizations in Nepal. Under his leadership, EWB Nepal has risen to prominence, demonstrating a commitment to innovation, collaboration, and impactful solutions for communities in need.

In just two short years, Kapil’s visionary approach has not only elevated EWB Nepal but also solidified Nepal’s place on the global map for engineering and sustainable development. His work has extended beyond EWB Nepal as well. As the President of Stars Alumni Nepal, he has focused on building global-local partnerships, championing education, supporting cerebral palsy initiatives, and addressing Nepalese immigration challenges. His dedication to creating meaningful change has left an indelible mark on both local and international communities.

The election for EWBI’s President-Elect was a competitive process, with three outstanding candidates vying for the role. Kapil’s selection speaks to the global recognition of his leadership, vision, and unwavering dedication to the principles of Engineers Without Borders. He will spend 2025 shadowing the current President, Sanjiv Indran, before officially taking on the role on January 1, 2026.

This achievement is not just a personal milestone for Kapil but a proud moment for Nepal and a testament to the strength and potential of the EWB Nepal family. His leadership on the global stage will bring new opportunities to foster innovation, strengthen partnerships, and create sustainable solutions that transcend borders.

As Kapil steps into this new role, the entire EWB Nepal team stands firmly behind him, ready to support him in shaping the future of Engineers Without Borders International. His journey inspires us all to aim higher and work harder to build a better tomorrow.

Congratulations, Kapil Dev Regmi! This is not just your victory but a triumph for Nepal and the global EWB network. Here’s to many more milestones and an even greater global impact in the years to come!
