On August 29, Engineers Without Borders Nepal (EWB-N) partnered with CloudFactory to host a Disaster Preparedness Training, aimed at enhancing awareness and readiness for natural disasters like GLOFs, landslides, floods, and earthquakes.
Led by members of EWB-N’s Professional Chapters, the session offered insightful discussions on disaster risk reduction, focusing on practical, community driven strategies to prepare, respond, and recover when disasters occur.
Participants from both organizations actively engaged in group discussions, plenary sessions, and a hands on Business Continuity Plan (BCP) exercise a vital tool to help organizations stay functional during emergencies. They also explored the Bipad Portal, Nepal’s national disaster data and risk mapping platform, gaining firsthand experience in using real time information for informed decision making.
Feedback from the session was overwhelmingly positive, with participants valuing the interactive learning environment, collaborative approach, and real world relevance of the topics covered.
This training marks the beginning of a promising collaboration between EWB Nepal and CloudFactory, uniting young professionals and industry leaders to strengthen disaster resilience and share knowledge. We extend heartfelt thanks to the CloudFactory team for their enthusiasm, insights, and shared commitment to building a culture of preparedness in Nepal.
