Where Ideas, People, and Innovation Come Together: KPKS iJatra

Kathmandu Pragya Kunja School proudly hosted iJatra on 14th February 2026, marking the successful completion of nearly ten months of sustained student effort, creativity, and disciplined collaboration. Facilitated by Trisha Bhatta and Palisha Shakya, the initiative provided students with a structured yet empowering space to explore ideas thoughtfully and gradually transform them into refined, market-ready products.

The journey began with extensive months of ideation, research, and dialogue. Working in teams, students identified gaps, assessed feasibility, and precisely refined their concepts. Initial ideas were revisited repeatedly, strengthened through feedback, and carefully reshaped before final decisions were made. The refinement process extended far beyond product development to include branding, packaging design, pricing strategies, and presentation planning. Each detail was considered with intention, ensuring that the final outcomes were not only imaginative but also functional, purposeful, and aesthetically compelling.

With steady guidance and growing independence, they developed resilience, accountability, and a strong sense of ownership. The experience required discipline and adaptability, allowing them to understand the depth of commitment necessary to bring an idea from conception to completion.

A total of twelve student ventures were showcased, each reflecting originality, teamwork, and problem-solving. Inferno presented handcrafted soy and gel wax candles; Ayona introduced natural lip balms crafted from cocoa butter, shea butter, and rose essential oil; and Douceur D’Or delighted visitors with artisanal chocolates distinguished by elegant branding and presentation.

Technology-driven creativity was evident in Lab X, featuring 3D-printed Batman and Hello Kitty bookmarks, and Cordy, offering functional 3D-printed cord organizers. Innovation in social engagement emerged through Sign Flows, a card game designed to allow deaf and hearing individuals to play together through enactment and guessing, fostering inclusivity. Khaasa Games introduced an anti-corruption themed mafia-style card game, while FutCards developed collectible football player cards appealing to sports enthusiasts.

Cultural integration and strategic thinking were embodied in Chitra Dhyan, a board game inspired by elements of Nepali culture, incorporating distinctive rules and power cards. Sustainability was reflected in Terra Buddy, which created decorative terrariums, and Kaagaj Katha, which crafted artistic lamps from recycled paper. Meanwhile, Kathmandu Chips reimagined local flavor by packaging popular Pimbahal chips in collectible paper boxes designed for reuse, merging thoughtful branding with practicality.

iJatra stood as a refined celebration of perseverance, innovation, and the lived experience of entrepreneurship and was met with positive reactions, affirming the value of sustained effort, collaborative learning, and experiential growth.
