Mr. Kapil Dev Regmi, President of Engineers Without Borders International (EWBI), joined the Engineering for People Grand Finals programme in Birmingham on 18th June 2026. The event brought together students from the various Universities, EWB leaders, and partners to celebrate innovation, creativity, and people-centred engineering through EWB UK’s flagship Engineering for People Design Challenge.
The Grand Finals included student pitches in the Auditorium, where finalists presented their ideas and solutions developed through the challenge. Mr. Regmi attended the event alongside members of the EWBI Board of Directors and delivery team, reflecting the strong connection between EWB UK’s initiatives.
During the programme, Ms. Chikondi Gurira, CEO of EWB South Africa, appreciated the creative engagement and learning opportunities through the Design Challenge. Mr. Regmi had the honour of announcing the People’s Prize Award during the closing ceremony. In his remarks, he highlighted how initiatives such as the Engineering for People Design Challenge help prepare young engineers to navigate the world with empathy, creativity, and practical problem-solving skills.
Mr. Regmi also expressed his sincere appreciation to EWB UK, for the kind invitation and warm hospitality throughout the event.
