On 5 July 2026, EWB Pulchowk, in collaboration with SochKoUdaan, conducted a student-friendly menstrual hygiene education session at Shree Mansingh Dharma Secondary School, Manamaiju, Kathmandu. The program inaugurated the WASH Project “Prawaha,” through which the team visits schools to assess water quality and WASH facilities, install pad vending machines, and provide basic sanitation and menstrual hygiene education.
Rittika Parajuli and Pawan Niroula, from EWB Pulchowk , along with Shrijala Pandey, representing SochKoUdaan, collaboratively directed the project team. Presentations were prepared for students of Grades 7–10. The students showed enthusiasm in presentation and demonstration of working of pad vending machine. The machine was token-based, dispensing a single pad per token.
The session was conducted in two phases (classes 7-8 and 9-10). Shrijala Pandey and EWB Pulchowk members Ashika Budhathoki, Rittika Parajuli, Niharika Bhattarai, and Pawan Niroula delivered the presentation, while Peshal Shrestha demonstrated the operation of sanitary pad vending machine. Anjana Shrestha, Ambika Shrestha, and Arpan Sapkota assisted in coordination. The program concluded with the principal’s closing speech and formation of a teacher-student committee to facilitate the machine.
