Bridging Engineering and Social Impact: EWBN–Purbanchal University Chapter

Engineers Without Borders Nepal – Purbanchal University Chapter (EWBN–PU) actively promotes student engagement in humanitarian engineering, sustainability, and community-centered development through structured academic and outreach activities.
On 14 May 2026, EWBN–PU organized an Interaction Program at Purbanchal University School of Engineering, Biratnagar, bringing together students, faculty members, and representatives from Engineers Without Borders Nepal and international volunteers. The session included participation from Mr. Kapil Dev Regmi, President of Engineers Without Borders International and Engineers Without Borders Nepal, and Mr. Mark Behrend, Volunteer, Engineers Without Borders Nepal.

The program focused on introducing the vision and initiatives of Engineers Without Borders, highlighting the importance of humanitarian engineering, and encouraging students to engage in sustainable and community-oriented engineering practices. An introductory presentation on EWBN–PU activities was also delivered, outlining ongoing student engagement efforts within the chapter.
EWBN–PU has been actively involved in organizing and supporting student-focused initiatives including climate change awareness activities, school outreach programs, Green Classroom and WASH awareness sessions, air pollution monitoring capacity-building programs, and youth engagement campaigns. These activities aim to connect engineering education with real-world social and environmental challenges.
Through these engagements, EWBN–PU continues to strengthen student participation in practical engineering applications and contributes to building a platform for collaboration, learning, and social impact within the engineering student community.
