On 5 May 2026, Engineers Without Borders Nepal – PU Chapter participated as a collaborating partner in a one-day Youth Capacity Building Training on Air Pollution Monitoring organized by Clean Energy Nepal in coordination with Goals Foundation and National Youth Council Association (NYCA). The program was conducted in Biratnagar and brought together youth participants, civil society representatives, and local stakeholders for discussions and practical learning on air pollution and environmental monitoring.

Representatives from Biratnagar Metropolitan City also participated in the program, contributing to discussions on the role of local government and multi-stakeholder collaboration in addressing urban environmental challenges.
The training focused on strengthening participants’ understanding of air pollution issues in Nepal, including the impacts of PM2.5 and PM10 pollutants on public health and the environment. Sessions also introduced participants to low-cost air quality monitoring sensors, their installation process, basic troubleshooting methods, and approaches to data collection and monitoring.
A hands-on demonstration session was conducted to familiarize participants with the practical application of air quality monitoring tools. Discussions further highlighted the importance of youth engagement, local coordination, and community-level participation in promoting environmental sustainability and evidence-based action.
Through its engagement in the program, EWBN–PU continued its involvement in youth-centered environmental initiatives aligned with humanitarian engineering, sustainability, and community awareness
