Navigating Entrepreneurship as Youth

On 23 August 2026, Engineers Without Borders Nepal (EWB Nepal) organized an interactive youth panel discussion titled “Navigating Entrepreneurship as Youth” at Kathmandu Pragya Kunja School from 4:00 PM to 5:45 PM. Centered around the theme “Inside the Entrepreneurial Journey: What Does It Really Take to Build?”, the event brought young people together to explore the realities of entrepreneurship and what it takes to turn an idea into meaningful action.
The session featured a diverse group of entrepreneurs and creative professionals who shared their personal experiences and perspectives. Vedika Murarka, Co-Founder of EduCase, spoke about developing ideas, building a venture and navigating the challenges that come with entrepreneurship. Tenzing D. Gurung, Managing Director of Meltdown, shared insights from his experience in business leadership and managing a growing venture. Dhipshika Giri, Founder and Illustrator of Koi Koi Studio, brought a creative perspective, discussing her journey of turning artistic skills and ideas into a professional venture. The session was moderated by Amien Shakya, Co-Founder and Creative Lead of STEAM Karyashala.
Rather than focusing only on success stories, the discussion explored the less visible parts of entrepreneurship, including uncertainty, challenges, failures and the process of learning along the way. The panelists emphasized the importance of taking the first step instead of waiting until everything feels perfect. They also highlighted how challenges can become valuable learning opportunities and how adapting to changing circumstances is an important part of building something from the ground up.
The conversation also explored the role of creativity, innovation and problem-solving in entrepreneurship. Participants were encouraged to recognize that there is no single path to becoming an entrepreneur. Whether through business, education, creative work or social innovation, young people can build their own paths based on their interests, skills and ideas.
The interactive nature of the session gave participants the opportunity to ask questions and engage directly with the panelists. This created an open and approachable environment where young people could connect the discussion to their own ambitions, interests and experiences. It also provided an opportunity for participants with similar interests to connect and exchange ideas.
A key takeaway from the session was that ideas gain value when they are transformed into action. The discussion encouraged young people to start where they are, learn from challenges, remain adaptable and continue working toward meaningful goals. The panel also reinforced that building something meaningful requires patience, resilience and a willingness to learn throughout the journey.
Overall, “Navigating Entrepreneurship as Youth” created a valuable space for young people to learn from real entrepreneurial experiences and explore the possibilities of creating something of their own. The event reflected EWB Nepal’s commitment to empowering youth through knowledge sharing, collaboration, creativity and innovation. The session concluded with a simple message for participants: come curious, take the first step, learn through the journey and turn ideas into impact.
